As the weekend sets in, this Friday October 3, 2025, at 4 PM, Kampala Queens FC will march into The Valley in Kawempe to open their 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League campaign against Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
It is a clash packed with history, rivalry, and ambition. For the Queens, it is not just another opening fixture; it is the first step in their quest to defend the crown they so proudly lifted last season.
The Valley is always a challenging ground, but the Queens of Soccer will carry with them fond memories of their last trip there. On that morning, the champions-in-waiting stormed to a commanding 4–1 victory, Shamusa Najjuma netting a brace, a result that proved vital in sealing the 2025-26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League title. Now, returning as defending champions, the mission is clear: to repeat history and set the tone for another successful campaign.
In the past eight meetings across league competition, the Queens have won thrice, no draws and scored 10 goals.

Assistant Coach Sharon Kizza has been vocal about the team’s ambitions. Speaking at the official league press conference in Kampala on Wednesday, she underlined what the new season means to the club.
“We are looking forward to compete as one of our targets. We want to end the season as champions — that is what we are going to focus on as a team.”
Her words capture the mood in camp: confident, focused, and driven. The Queens know that defending a title is harder than winning it, but they also know that history beckons — no team has ever retained the FUFA Women Super League trophy.
New Faces, Same Mission
The squad that will attempt this historic defense has a blend of familiar heroes and exciting new signings. The Queens strengthened significantly during the off-season, adding Sharon Kaidu, Jolly Kobusinge, Catherine Wujja, Joanita Ainembabazi, Square Mwaise, Precious Phiri, Tukamushabe Daphine, and Amangat Marion.

These fresh additions bring energy, competition, and depth to a team that already proved its quality last season. Their task is simple but demanding: to help Queens remain on top of Ugandan women’s football.
Squad Update
All players are available for selection, though a few will miss out on the opener. Nalumu Sumaiyah is away from camp preparing for her final school exams, while Wayodi Merciline, and Kwatulira Winniefred are sidelined with injuries and still undergoing rehabilitation. Their return dates remain unconfirmed.
