Kampala Queens FC will play their final match of the 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League season with an away trip to Makerere University WFC on Sunday, 17th May 2026 at the Nsibirwa Ground.
After months of intense competition and hard work, Kampala Queens now have one last opportunity to leave a strong impression regardless of not defending the title.

Every season tells a story and this one has been filled with lessons of growth.
Although the title race is no longer in their hands, the Queens have continued to show character and professionalism. This final match offers the perfect chance to reward themselves with a positive result and carry momentum into the future.
Playing away at Makerere adds another layer to the occasion. Facing them at home always presents a challenge of its own caliber though history strongly favors the Queens in this fixture. In the last seven meetings between the two sides, Kampala Queens FC remain unbeaten, recording three wins and four draws. This record doesn’t tell the fight behind the results and the mental strength staged whenever they face Makerere University WFC.
Last season, the Queens secured a convincing 2-0 victory at MTN Omondi Stadium, In another recent encounter, in the first round, they edged Makerere 2-1 in a closely contested match that required patience and determination until the final minutes.
However, past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Makerere have always proven to be a stubborn and organized side, capable of frustrating even the strongest opponents.

Speaking ahead of the match, the Kampala Queens assistant coach Shafic Mutebi stressed the importance of mentality and focus going into the final game:
“This is the last match of the season, and it is very important for us. We want to finish on a strong note. The players have worked hard all season and this is the moment to close off on a high.”

Midfielder Esther Ainembabazi is one of the players available for selection in this encounter. She made her debut in Masindi against Lady Doves FC. With her work rate, composure and ability to control the tempo of the game, Esther played an important role in linking defense and attack in the time she had on the field. Speaking before the match, she shared her thoughts:
“We are ready for this game. It is our last match and everyone wants to finish the season well. We know Makerere will fight, especially at home but we are prepared.”

On a personal level, Esther is determined to contribute:
“As players, we always want to give our best. I will do everything I can to help the team get a good result if coach chooses me to represent.”
Fans should expect a competitive and engaging match. With both teams eager to end their season positively, the game is likely to be played with intensity, determination and moments of quality.
