MATCH PREVIEW: Kampala Queens FC Targets Redemption as She Corporate FC Visits Lugogo

Kampala Queens FC returns to action this Sunday as they host She Corporate FC in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League Match day 9 encounter at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. With a week of intense preparation behind them and a desire to bounce back from their previous setback, the Queens are primed for a strong response in front of their home supporters seeking redemption and renewed momentum in their chase for the 2025 title.

The week’s training sessions have been marked by renewed energy and a clear sense of purpose. Third captain Amangat Mariam revealed that the team has used the last few days to correct the errors of the previous match.

“The previous game wasn’t in our favour, not because we wanted it that way, but things happen,” she said.
“The drills the coaches have given us have been majorly to correct the mistakes, and I believe we are going to bounce back stronger.”

Amangat acknowledged the quality of their opponents but affirmed the Queens’ confidence and resilience.

“She Corporate is a disturbing team, but we are not an easy team either. Tough games like these always make us stronger because we are contenders for the trophy. Come Sunday, we shall work hard, and I believe the victory will be ours.”

The Queens welcome back forward Catherine Nagadya, who missed the clash against She Maroons FC due to accumulated cautions. Her return adds pace, creativity, and experience to the attacking line.

However, midfielder Naigaga Kamiyati remains unavailable as she continues to undergo medical monitoring. Apart from her absence, the squad is otherwise at full strength.

Goalkeeper coach Kawooya Sowedi emphasized the team’s readiness:

“We have worked on the mistakes from our previous game. Cathy is back after serving her suspension. The team is full house except Kamiyati, who is still under scrutiny. We hope to play the way we train — entertaining football — and aim for positive results.”

The rivalry between Kampala Queens FC and She Corporate FC has always produced tight and competitive matches but inclined to the Queens. Out of the six previous encounters, the Queens have won 4, drawn 2 and never lost. Despite the favourable record, every match has demanded full focus and intensity from both sides.

The last meeting at Lugogo ended in a confident 2–0 victory for the Queens, with goals coming from Shamirah Nalugya and Jamirah Nabulime.

Both sides are tied on 17 points, but Kampala Queens FC occupy 2nd place on the log courtesy of a superior goal difference — 10 goals compared to She Corporate FC’s 8.
