Catherine Nagadya Aims to Fire The Queens Past Amus College WFC

Striker Catherine Nagadya says the team is in high spirits and fully focused on picking maximum points ahead of their Matchday 10 clash against Amus College WFC, scheduled for tomorrow at 10am at Amus College Stadium.

Speaking to the club media after today’s final training session, Nagadya shared her confidence in the team’s preparation and her personal desire to make a difference in the game.

“The mood is high so that we can get the three points. It won’t be easy, but as a team we are working hard so that we don’t repeat the mistakes we made in the last games. We are going to do our best to win tomorrow,” she said.

The Queens of Soccer head into this match after losing their last two games of the season. Despite the defeats, the team showed fight in their last outing against She Corporate FC at Lugogo, where they narrowly lost 3-2. Nagadya was on the scoresheet in that game, once again showing her value to the team.

The Queens are now determined to turn their form around and return to winning ways, starting with the trip to Amus.

Kampala Queens FC has faced Amus College WFC twice before in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League, and have won both matches. Last season, when the Queens visited Amus College Stadium, they earned a strong 3-1 victory. Goals on that day came from Nandede Zainah, Catherine Nagadya, and Naigaga Kamiyati.

That result gives the Queens confidence as they return to the same venue for another tough test.

The team has spent several days in Amus preparing for the match, and Nagadya believes this has helped them settle well.

“For the few days we have been here, we have somehow adapted to the weather. So we shall do our best,” she added.

The Queens completed their final training session today with high energy, working on sharp passing, finishing, and team shape as they prepare for the challenge ahead.

Assistant Coach Sharon Kizza says the team has worked hard in training to correct mistakes after the last two matches and is fully focused on getting a positive result in Bukedea.

“After the two difficult results we had, we prepared very well so that we can bounce back stronger and get the result we desire as a team,” she said before adding.

“The environment here is very hot, but since we arrived two days ago, it has helped our players to adapt to the weather. By game time, we believe we shall be ready to play well under these conditions,” she added.

Since joining Kampala Queens FC in 2023, Catherine Nagadya has grown into one of the club’s most important players. Her speed, movement, and eye for goal have made her a constant threat to defenders.

This season, she is currently among the league’s leading goal scorers’ chart with 6 goals.

“As a striker, my role is to score and I feel happy to score for my team. I will work hard to score tomorrow so that my team can win,” she said.
