Kampala Queens FC return to the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo this Saturday morning. The Queens of Soccer host She Maroons FC in what will be the eighth meeting between the two sides in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League. Historically, this has been a favorable fixture for Kampala Queens, who boast four wins and two draws from the previous seven encounters.
But this time, the context is different. The first round delivered a rare setback—a 2-0 defeat at Prisons Ground, Luzira—marking the first time Kampala Queens FC fell to She Maroons FC. It is a result that still lingers, and one that sets the tone for Saturday’s contest.
Assistant Coach Shafic Mutebi acknowledges the need for a calculated approach.
Every game brings different conditions and these conditions call for different tactics. We have not been so good at home this season, but hopefully we will go home with three points tomorrow.
That honesty reflects a season where Lugogo has not been the usual fortress. Two home defeats already—an unfamiliar statistic for a side built on dominance—have added a layer of urgency to this tie.Yet, if there is anything to lean on, it is the mood in camp through the whole week.
The Queens head into this fixture on the back of a controlled 2-0 victory over Uganda Martyrs HS WFC last weekend. The energy has been right, the focus sharp and the belief evident.

Now tomorrow is a chance to respond to that first-round defeat, restore authority at home and also a chance to close out the Women’s Month with a statement that reflects who the Queens Of Soccer truly are.
