Kampala Queens Set for First Home Game Against Makerere University WFC.

As Kampala Queens FC prepares to host their first home game of the 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League, the team is full of confidence and determination to secure their first home win of the season. The game will be played tomorrow – Saturday, 11th October, at MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo against Makerere University WFC, with kickoff set for 10:00 AM.

The Queens come into this fixture after a 1–1 draw in their opening match against Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, where they managed to collect a valuable point away from home through Kamiyati Naigaga, a result which currently places Kampala Queens FC third on the league table and the team is eager to build on this momentum as they play on home turf.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Assistant Coach Sharon Kizza expressed her confidence in the team’s preparation, readiness, and attacking mindset going into the weekend fixture.

“Yes, it’s our first game at home and we are ready for Makerere University. Our players are in good condition and ready to play tomorrow,  we don’t have any injuries or sickness in the team.”

She also  revealed that the team plan is to adopt a more offensive approach as they aim for their first victory of the season.

“This time round, we’re fully focused and determined to give our best, especially playing at home. Our style of play will be more attacking because we need to score more goals, and we believe our players are ready to deliver that for us.”

Kiiza also reflected on lessons from their previous outing, noting that the team had addressed defensive lapses seen in the opening match.

“Looking back at our last game, we conceded from a situation that we could have handled better, and that’s one of the key areas we’ve worked on throughout the week. We’re confident we’ve corrected it.”

She further called upon the fans to turn up in big numbers and rally behind the team in their first home fixture.

“To our fans, please come in large numbers tomorrow — we’re ready to receive you, and your support will mean a lot to us. We’ll be happy to see you cheering us on as we fight for victory at home.”

Midfielder Teddy Najjuma expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and highlighted the advantage of playing at home.

“The coaches have given us great training sessions throughout the week, and all the players are in good shape, ready to give their best. Being at home gives us an advantage. With a better pitch, we’re looking forward to playing good football. We are determined to work to the best of our abilities and deliver positive results this time around.”

She further shared her personal commitment to contributing both assists and goals as Kampala Queens chase another successful season.

“As a midfielder, I’m working hard to create as many chances as possible for my forwards and to score decisive goals for the team. Our ultimate goal is to defend our championship and earn another opportunity to represent Uganda in the CECAFA qualifiers.”

In the previous encounter at the same ground, the Queens took the day with a convincing 2-0 victory.

With strong preparation, a positive mindset, and home support behind them, Kampala Queens will be aiming to collect maximum points and continue their pursuit of defending their league title  and ultimately, securing another chance to represent Uganda in the CECAFA qualifiers.
