Kampala Queens FC endured a difficult outing on the road, falling 2-0 to She Corporate FC at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru on a chilly Saturday morning. It marked the Queens’ first away defeat of the second round in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League.
The game kicked off with both sides showing intent from the onset. The tempo was lively, and early exchanges saw both teams push forward in search of an opener. Goalkeepers at either end stood tall in the opening minutes, making crucial interventions to keep the score level.
However, the deadlock was broken in the 17th minute under unfortunate circumstances for the visitors. A long-range effort from Namanda caught the Queens’ goalkeeper Sharon Kaidu off her line. Attempting to tip the ball over the bar, she was unable to divert its power as it instead sailed into the roof of the net, handing the hosts the lead.
Despite going behind, the Queens responded with purpose. They built up play well and carved out promising opportunities but were left to rue missed chances as the first half concluded with She Corporate holding onto their slender advantage.
The second half saw a more dominant Kampala Queens side. Tactical adjustments injected new energy, and the Queens took control of possession and tempo. Their attacking intent was clear, but efficiency in front of goal remained elusive.
One of the closest moments came when a defensive lapse gifted the ball inside the box, falling kindly to Nagadya. Her effort forced a save from the goalkeeper, and the rebound was swiftly cleared for a corner. Moments later, Shakirah came close with a beautifully struck free kick from outside the penalty area that rattled the crossbar. Joanitah reacted quickest to the rebound but her header lacked the power to trouble the goalkeeper.

Further attacking changes saw Shamusa introduced, alongside Kamiyati and Wujja, as the technical bench sought to turn dominance into goals. Shamusa nearly made an instant impact, connecting with a well-controlled chest pass from Joanitah before firing towards the near post, only to be denied once again by the alert She Corporate goalkeeper.
While the Queens continued to dictate play and create numerous scoring opportunities, the breakthrough remained out of reach.

The match, however, ended in controversy. After the regulation 90 minutes, the referee indicated three minutes of added time. As the clock wound down, a whistle was heard—believed by many players to signal the end of the game. Kampala Queens defenders momentarily paused, only for She Corporate’s Namanda to chase a long ball and finish into a barely unguarded net. The referee allowed the goal to stand, and shortly after, confirmed full time with the final whistle.
Speaking after the match, Assistant Coach Shafic Mutebi expressed disappointment with the result but praised the team’s performance.
“It is a disappointing result but a good performance from the girls,” he noted.
“Everything was done right except converting the chances we created. Generally, I think the best team lost.”

The result leaves Kampala Queens FC in third position on the league table, now trailing the leaders by 13 points and second place by 12, with only four matches remaining in the 2025/26 campaign.
The Queens will look to respond when they return home to host Amus College WFC on Sunday, 12th April 2026 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
