The Palace never truly sleeps.
Even during the short break after the first round of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League, there was no real rest. The matches had paused, but the work did not stop. Training plans were reviewed. Bodies were managed. Minds stayed focused. It was a quiet period — but full of purpose.

Now, with less than a week to the start of the second round, that quiet has turned into energy. Boots hit the turf again. Coaches’ voices carry across the pitch. Teammates push each other through drills. The mood is clear — it is time to compete. The Queens return with confidence after finishing the first round strongly, with an important home win over Lady Doves FC at the Fortress. That result reminded everyone of the standard expected inside this Palace.
But round two is not about what has already been done. It is about what still needs to be achieved. Seven points separate the Queens from the top of the table. The target is simple — close the gap and fight for the summit. There have been some changes in the squad. Precious Phiri and Square Maiwase have returned to Zambia after completing their time at the Palace. Nalumu Sumaiyah and Komuntale Sumaya also made their moves to new places. The club thanks them for their contribution and wishes them the very best.

At the same time, there is good news.
Kamiyati Naigaga — “The Queen Hunter” — is back in full team training after months of recovery. Before her injury, she had scored six goals. Her return adds strength to the attack and brings fresh belief as the Golden Boot race continues.
Winniefred Kwatulira has also completed her rehabilitation and is back with the team. She has worked hard behind the scenes for months. Her return strengthens the defence and gives the squad another boost of experience and leadership.
Catherine Nagadya remains not only the Palace’s leading scorer but also the league’s with nine goals and three assists. She enters the second round focused and determined to maintain her impact.
Peace Muduwa also returns with added confidence after playing a key role as Uganda eliminated Zambia in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. The international experience she gained will be valuable in the months ahead.

New signings? The whispers are growing louder. The Palace kitchen is boiling. Conversations are happening. Decisions are being shaped. Very soon, answers will be served.
Round two begins at home with two back-to-back fixtures at the Fortress against Rines SS WFC and Asubo Ladies FC. February demands strong performances and maximum points. The Queens understand the importance of starting well.
Head Coach Asefa Firew Hailegebreal continues to lead the technical team, working closely with Assistant Coach Sharon Kizza. The leadership structure remains stable, while a few new additions have quietly strengthened the backroom staff, especially in equipment and support roles.
