Ainembabazi Joanitah Signs for Kampala Queens FC

Kampala Queens FC unveils Joanitah Ainembabazi as the latest addition to the Palace. The energetic Ugandan star has signed a two-year contract, joining from India’s Kickstart FC Karnataka, where she recently featured before deciding to return home.

Before her adventure abroad, Ainembabazi had already established herself as a promising player in Ugandan women’s football. Known for her versatility, strong work ethic, and ability to adapt to different roles, she quickly grew into a dependable figure for both club and the country. Her commitment and steady growth opened the door for opportunities beyond Uganda, eventually earning her a move to India — a bold step that many young footballers dream about.

At Kickstart FC Karnataka, Ainembabazi gained invaluable exposure in a competitive environment. Playing abroad allowed her to experience new styles of play, improved professionalism, and higher levels of intensity. Even though her stay was short, those lessons have shaped her into a more mature and confident footballer. The decision to return home was a strategic one. Joanitah is determined to channel her international experience into developing her game further and contributing to the growth of Kampala Queens FC and  women’s football in Uganda.

Signing with Kampala Queens, Ainembabazi has stepped into one of the most ambitious clubs in East and Central Africa. The Queens of Soccer are not only dominant in the FUFA Women Super League, but also pushing hard to leave their mark on the CAF Women’s Champions League stage.

“I am very happy to be part of Kampala Queens. Playing abroad gave me new experiences, but I felt it was the right time to come back home and grow even more here. I will use my experience to help the club go further in the CECAFA tournament,” she said.

Ainembabazi was part of the She Corporate FC squad which played and reached the finals in 2022 in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers, and now ready to replicate the same with the Queens. She also brings a different level of exposure and confidence, qualities that will inspire teammates and set a positive example for younger players in the squad. Joanitah still has her best years ahead of her. Her move to the Palace is about building towards her long-term ambitions. With the support and platform provided by Kampala Queens, she hopes to continue growing and possibly return to professional football outside Uganda in the future — this time stronger and more accomplished.

From her early days in Uganda, to her bold step into Indian football, and now back home in Turquoise Blue, the Palace family warmly welcomes her.

Welcome to the Place Joanitah Ainembabazi.
