Match Preview: Kampala Queens FC host St Noa GFC

Another chapter awaits as the Queens of Soccer host St Noa Girls FC on Saturday 14th March 2026 at the fortress, MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

The memory of the first meeting between the two sides is still fresh. When the Queens travelled to Muteesa II Stadium in November last year, the contest turned into a tense tactical battle that was decided by the finest of margins. Kampala Queens FC edged the game 1–0, thanks to Catherine Nagadya’s goal, but it also required brilliance between the posts.

Goalkeeper Namakula Gloria stood tall that morning, producing a string of exceptional saves that kept St Noa at bay and secured the victory. Her commanding display earned her the Woman of the Match award and ensured the Queens carried the three points back to Palace.

Now the stage shifts to Lugogo. The Queens arrive into this fixture with growing momentum, unbeaten in their last two matches, scoring nine goals while keeping clean sheets in both games.

Currently third on the table with 28 points, the Queens trail the leaders by seven points and sit five behind the second-placed side. St Noa, meanwhile, occupy sixth position with 18 points, making Saturday’s clash another crucial test for both teams.

One player who has quietly grown into an important role in recent weeks is defender Catherine Wujja. The left back has started the last two games and continues to show maturity in her defensive duties while also supporting attacking movements down the flank.

Speaking during the pre-match press briefing, Wujja expressed confidence in the team’s preparation.

“According to the training our coaches have given us, we are ready to face St Noa. We promise our fans that we are going to do our best on Saturday. We are calling upon them to come and support us because we will not disappoint them.”

Saturday’s encounter will also carry a personal storyline for forward Catherine Nagadya. The striker will be facing familiar faces from St Noa Girls Zana, where she completed her A-Level studies last year.

Nagadya has been one of the most dangerous attackers in the league this season. She currently leads the scoring charts with 10 goals, level with Jesca Namanda of She Corporate FC. Another lethal asset sits in the attacking midfield. Namaganda Zaitun has controlled tempo in the past 3 games and also scored 4 goals.

From the technical bench, assistant coach Sharon Kizza believes the match presents another opportunity for the Queens to keep their title ambitions alive.

“Another game at home against St Noa. They are a good side and when you look at their style of play, it resembles ours.
We respect them, but being at home we must show the right attitude and character so that we get the three points.
To the fans out there, please come in numbers and cheer the ladies. We will be glad to see you.”

All players were present during the team’s final training session, and according to the medical team, the entire squad is in good condition and available for selection by the technical team.
