The Palace continues to grow stronger! Kampala Queens FC is proud to announce the signing of Wujja Catherine, a tough, reliable, and highly committed defender, on a three-year contract.
At just the right moment in her career, Catherine makes the big step to the Queens of Soccer after proving herself as a central figure at Rines SS Women Football Club. Her arrival is not only a boost to the squad’s defensive options but also a statement of intent as Kampala Queens reinforce with proven talent ahead of the CAF Women’s Champion’s League Qualifiers for CECAFA Zone set for 4th – 16th September 2025 in Nairobi Kenya.
Catherine is known across the league for her no-nonsense defending. She reads the game intelligently, times her tackles well, and gives attackers little breathing space with excellent presence in duels, she has earned respect as a dependable backline marshal.

During her time at Rines SS WFC, Catherine established herself as one of the most consistent defenders in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League. Her performances often stood out because of her ability to combine strength with discipline — rare qualities in the modern game. Week after week, she was a pillar of stability, inspiring teammates with her composure under pressure.
For the Queens of Soccer, who are constantly aiming higher both in Uganda and on the continent, Catherine’s arrival strengthens the defense at a crucial time. The club has always built its success on a blend of flair going forward and solidity at the back. Catherine’s presence will ensure balance, competition, and depth in the squad during her three-year commitment.
Speaking after signing her contract, Catherine could not hide her joy and determination to shine in Turquoise Blue.
“I am very happy to join Kampala Queens. This is a big opportunity for me, and I am ready to give everything for the badge. Playing for the Queens of Soccer is a dream, and I want to help the team achieve even greater success. The fans can expect hard work, discipline, and passion from me,” she said.
Catherine is entering a key stage of her career. For her, joining Kampala Queens FC is not only about competing in the league but also about preparing for bigger stages like the CAF Women’s Champions League. She believes this platform will help her grow, gain international exposure, and inspire the next generation of young defenders in Uganda.
Welcome home, Queen Wujja Catherine.
